Paris as the World’s Fashion Centre
If you are asked by someone about the centre of fashion, I bet your answer will be Paris. Why would everyone say that Paris is the world’s fashion centre? Here is my opinion why Paris could be the world’s fashion centre.
The term fashion usually applies to a prevailing mode of expression. Fashion has been invented in Europe since the 14th century. In France, the fashion style was influenced for the first time by a designer named Rose Bertin, a millionaire and a dressmaker to Marie Antoinette. Fashions among upper-class Europeans began to move in synchronicity in the 18th century especially in France. Colors and patterns of textiles changed from year to year.

Many famous fashion designers come from France. Designers such as Charles Frederick Worth, Coco Chanel, Lucien Lelong, Elsa Schiaparelli, Cristóbal Balenciaga, Christian Dior, and Yves Saint Laurent have had fashion houses in Paris. So many Hollywood celebrities are interested in using clothes by designers from France. They think the clothes are very fashionable and unique. There are so many fashions events held in Paris. Not only big events but also small events held in there. I think, all these things are the reasons why Paris could be the world’s fashion centre.
