Garuda di Dadaku Movie Review
Today I went to Pejaten Village with my little brother to watch the movie "Garuda di Dadaku" (kaya anak SMP/ SMA baru belajar bahasa Inggris :D). Many people said it was a great movie. So, I wanna prove it myself and decide whether it is a good movie or not.
I actually arrived at the cinema @ 11.30 am, but got the tickets for playing @ 3.10 pm. So I had to wait a couple of hours before I could see the movie. I then decided to have lunch at a bistro not far from it. At ten to three, I got back to the cinema and saw many bunch of kids monkeying around all over the place. I said, "Ohh...it's gonna drive me crazyy..." I sat down on my seat and started to watch the movie.
'Garuda di Dadaku' is a football themed movie intended for children. This Ifa Isfansyah movie is not only entertaining, but also could give inspiration to the nation's children to catch their dreams.
'Garuda di Dadaku' tells a story of a boy named Bayu (starred by Emir Mahira), whose dream is to become the national football player. Somehow, during the way to catch the dream, he faces various obstacles. However, the obstacles do not make Bayu jaded. the kid keeps struggling to be able to wear the Indonesian National Team uniform.
In order to realize that dream, Bayu is also supported by his best friend, Heri (starred by Aldo Tansiani). Heri gives financial support to Bayu so he could join the Arsenal Soccer School. Unfortunately, Bayu never receive support from the grandfather, Usman (starred by Ikranagara) for a reason.
Bayu must pass the team selection to be able to join the Arsenal Football School. He then lies to his grandpa to practice on an old graveyard (because there are no other places for him to practice).
So..., do you think Bayu could achieve his dream wearing the National Team uniform? Then what will happen to the grandpa? Watch the movie and see it by yourself.
'Garuda di Dadaku' can be referred as the second film after 'Laskar Pelangi' which could inspire and motivate people recently. The spirit showed by Bayu gives a good example for the children to keep striving to realize their dreams.
Emir who has the ability and skill to play the ball makes the movie becomes more real. The movie is also supported by senior actors and actresses-such as Maudy Koesnadi and Ikranagara, so it deserves to get two thumbs up.
Garuda di Dadaku is the best movie choice for the holidays and begins playing in the cinemas on June 18. Watch it and you'll be touched!
One thing special from the movie is that I saw one of my friends showed up and said a couple of sentences on a scene (though it less than 10 secs). Not bad, uh? Click the photo to see more images of him.
One more thing! I also have a god damn bonus picture of myself and my little brother before going to the cinema (with a silly face, of course. Hahahahaaa...):
